Welcome to Join In (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By using our website https://joinin.ie (“the Site”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, and continued use of the Site means you accept any updates.

1. About Join In

Join In is an Irish community directory showcasing inclusive and accessible activities, clubs, and services across Ireland.
Our goal is to connect people with local experiences — but we do not operate, manage, or verify the listed providers or activities directly.

2. Listings Overview

Listings may be created either by Join In or directly by the provider.

Providers are responsible for:

  • Ensuring their information is accurate and up to date
  • Complying with all safety, insurance, and legal requirementsManaging their own bookings, pricing, and contact details

While we publish and maintain listings, Join In does not run or supervise any activity or venue.

Crucially, Join In is not a party to any contract or agreement entered into between a user and a listed provider.

Inclusion in the directory does not mean endorsement or guarantee of quality, safety, or suitability.

3. Liability Disclaimer

All information on Join In is provided in good faith for general information purposes only.

Participation in listed activities or visits to listed locations is at your own risk.
We are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage that may occur during participation in, or as a result of, any listed activity, service, or event.

4. Paid Listings & Featured Providers

Some listings or sections of the Site may include paid features such as “Premium” or “Sponsored” listings.
These paid features are clearly identified.

Paid listings:

  • Do not imply endorsement or quality assurance
  • Do not guarantee results, bookings, or safety

All promotional placements are subject to availability and compliance with our content guidelines.

5. Listing Content & Editorial Rights

Listings may be written or edited by Join In for clarity, tone, or layout.
However, providers remain fully responsible for:

  • The accuracy and legality of their listing
  • Any required licenses, insurance, or safety standards

When we edit or feature a listing, it does not mean we have reviewed it for safety, legality, or compliance.

We reserve the right to edit, hide, or remove content that is inaccurate, misleading, or inappropriate.

6. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, all text, graphics, logos, and design elements created by Join In are protected by copyright.

Providers and contributors must:

  • Only upload images, text, or media they have the rights to use
  • Not reuse Join In content without permission

If you believe your content has been used without permission, please contact us at privacy@joinin.ie.

7. User-Generated Content (UGC)

We may allow users to post or submit reviews, photos, or other content (“UGC”).
By submitting UGC (including posts, comments, or photos from social media), you grant Join In a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use and display that content on our site and social media channels.

You are responsible for ensuring your UGC:

  • Is accurate and lawful
  • Does not infringe copyright, privacy, or other rights
  • Is not defamatory, obscene, or harmful

Join In is not responsible for UGC accuracy or legality and may remove or edit UGC at its discretion.

8. Links to Other Websites

Our website may contain links to third-party sites. These are provided for convenience only.

We do not control or endorse the content of external websites and are not responsible for any loss or damage that may arise from using them.

We recommend reviewing the privacy and terms of any linked site before engaging with it.

9. Privacy & Communication

We handle all personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.

By contacting us, creating a listing, or subscribing to updates, you consent to receive relevant communications.
You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in our emails or by contacting privacy@joinin.ie.

10. Changes to the Site

We may update, pause, or remove parts of the Site without prior notice.
We’re not responsible for any temporary downtime, data loss, or service interruption.

11. Legal & Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland.
If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining sections will remain in effect.

All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.

Provider Listings – Responsibilities & Disclaimers

1. Provider Responsibility

Each listing on Join In is created and managed by the provider named in the listing (“Provider”).

By submitting a listing, the Provider confirms that:

  • All information supplied is accurate, complete, and lawful.
  • The Provider holds all required permissions, licences, insurance, and (where relevant) safeguarding, accessibility, food safety, or health certifications to operate the listed activity, venue, or service.
  • All photos, text, and media submitted are original or used with proper rights and permissions.
  • The activity or service complies with all applicable Irish health, safety, accessibility, equality, and consumer protection laws.
  • The Provider is solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and safety of their listing and for any participant experiences.

Providers must promptly update their listings if information changes (such as opening hours, prices, contact details, or accessibility features).

2. Platform Role and Limitation of Liability

Join In is an independent, inclusive directory that connects users with providers of community activities, services, and venues across Ireland.

Join In:

  • Publishes listings for informational purposes only
  • Does not independently verify each listing’s accuracy, safety, insurance, or legal compliance
  • Does not operate, manage, or supervise any listed activity, event, or location

Inclusion of a listing does not imply endorsement, guarantee, or certification by Join In.
We make no warranties, either express or implied, regarding the reliability, completeness, safety, legality, or suitability of any listing information.

Join In is not a party to any contract between users and providers and accepts no liability for any loss, injury, illness, damage, or claim arising from participation in or reliance on any listed activity, event, or service.

If we become aware of false, misleading, or illegal information, we reserve the right to edit, suspend, or remove the listing at our discretion.

3. Indemnity

By submitting a listing, the Provider agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Join In, its owners, team members, and affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, or legal costs arising from:

  • Any inaccurate, unlawful, or misleading content submitted to the platform
  • Any act or omission of the Provider, or any activity, service, or venue offered through the listing.

This indemnity continues even after a listing is removed or the Provider ceases to use the platform.

4. Editorial Rights

Join In may review, edit, or remove content that appears inaccurate, misleading, or in breach of these Terms.

When Join In edits a listing for clarity, tone, grammar, or formatting:

  • The Provider remains fully responsible for the factual accuracy, legality, and safety compliance of that listing.
  • Editorial adjustments do not constitute a verification, inspection, or safety review.

We reserve the right to decline or remove listings that do not meet our inclusion standards or community guidelines.

5. User Notice

Where a listing is marked “Provided by [Provider Name]”, content has been supplied by that Provider and not independently verified by Join In.

Users should:

  • Confirm details (such as opening hours, accessibility, costs, or safety requirements) directly with the Provider before participating or attending
  • Use their own judgement and take reasonable care when engaging in any listed activity or visiting any listed venue

Participation is always at your own risk. By proceeding, you acknowledge and accept this risk.
